Research: Brown Fat – Part 1

Brown adipose tissue (BAT) regulates body temperature and plays a role in diet-induced thermogenesis.  Its job is to rapidly generate heat, to expend energy.  It transfers energy from the food we eat into heat. Brown fat has been shown to help people overcome diabetes and obesity.  People with the most brown fat are lean.  People with a high BMI have the least amount of brown fat. When you increase brown fat, you decrease obesity.  According to some studies, when brown fat is increased and activated, fatty liver disease goes way down, and Type 2 Diabetes can be overcome.
